An Important Acknowledgement
About Chakras + Writing with Respect
Hey. Lisa Govro here, founder of Big Heart Tea Co. On behalf of all of us Big Hearters, I’m so glad you’re here.
As you may know, we recently launched our Chakra Tea set. I’m so excited to tell you about it. But before we get started, I need to make an important acknowledgment.
I want to start by acknowledging my own cultural background. As a white, cis-gendered woman of European descent teaching about the chakra system and tea, I must recognize that my cultural background might influence how I approach and present this knowledge. My understanding of the chakra system and tea culture might be influenced by the perspectives and norms of my own heritage, potentially leading to interpretations that don't fully encompass the depth and richness of these practices in their original cultural contexts. I strive to approach this teaching with humility, acknowledging the importance of learning from diverse sources and honoring the authenticity and significance of these traditions beyond my own cultural framework.
In 2012, I began using my knowledge of yoga, herbs, and the chakra system to organize Big Heart Tea Co.’s original line of teas.
The Chakra Tea set we just launched is like version 2.0 of that original line of teas — it’s been optimized and improved a bit. The set includes a tea to align with each chakra, as well as a cute little guidebook with more information and ideas for rituals to nourish each of your chakras.
Working with the chakras is sort of like burning through the layers of yourself so you can be more authentic inside and out. I continue to learn new ways to apply the system to all areas of my life, and I hope you’ll benefit from them too.
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here,
Lisa
