Recipe: Wintering in Malawi Mocktail

When the weather changes, we reach for seasonal fruits, herbs, and warming spices. 
This alcohol-free collins is anchored by our Malawi Iced, a wonderful N/A substitute. In addition to the mainstay of lemon juice, this drink leans on the aroma of seasonal pears, warming ginger, and piney rosemary. A cinnamon stick would also be great too if you don't have rosemary laying around.
Ingredients:
  • 2 oz Malawi Iced
  • 1.5 oz pear juice
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz ginger syrup*
  • 1 oz cold club soda
  • Rosemary 

STEP 1

Ginger syrup: place 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan on low and stir gently to mix. Add 1 cup of coarsely chopped ginger root and simmer for one hour, occasionally stirring. Remove from the heat, allow it to cool, and strain out the ginger.

STEP 2

Shake all ingredients (except club soda and rosemary) over ice for 5-10 seconds.
STEP 3
Strain into an ice-filled glass, topping with club soda, stir gently and garnish with rosemary.
